Mirae Asset Global Investments Co. Ltd. has recently initiated a new investment in the iShares MSCI Canada ETF (NYSEARCA:EWC) during the third quarter, as disclosed in its latest filing with the SEC. The institutional investor has acquired approximately 228,600 shares of the ETF, amounting to a total valuation of around $9,475,000.
In addition to Mirae Asset’s investment, several other institutional investors and hedge funds have also adjusted their positions in the iShares MSCI Canada ETF. For instance, Ashton Thomas Private Wealth LLC established a new position in the ETF during the second quarter, valued at about $45,000. Meanwhile, Syntrinsic LLC increased its holdings in the ETF by 26% during the same quarter, bringing its total to 1,494 shares worth $55,000 after adding 308 shares. International Assets Investment Management LLC similarly purchased a new stake in the ETF, which was valued at $69,000. Whittier Trust Co. enhanced its investment in the ETF by 38.7% in the third quarter, which now consists of 1,682 shares valued at around $70,000 following an acquisition of an additional 469 shares. Additionally, CWM LLC raised its stake by 18.7% in the second quarter, owning 2,346 shares worth approximately $87,000 after buying 370 more shares.

The iShares MSCI Canada ETF (NYSEARCA:EWC) opened at a price of $41.16 on Monday, with a market capitalization of $2.94 billion. The ETF has a price-to-earnings (PE) ratio of 14.59 and a beta of 0.90, indicating generally lower volatility compared to the broader market. It recorded a 50-day moving average of $40.85 and a 200-day moving average of $38.82. Over the past year, the ETF reached a 52-week low of $31.41 and a high of $42.17.
