Bank of New York Mellon Corp Increases Holdings in SPDR Portfolio Mortgage Backed Bond ETF
On March 25, 2025, it was reported that the Bank of New York Mellon Corp has significantly increased its investment in the SPDR Portfolio Mortgage Backed Bond ETF (NYSEARCA:SPMB). According to their latest Form 13F filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the bank enhanced its stake in the ETF by 60.7% during the fourth quarter of the previous year.
After this increase, Bank of New York Mellon Corp now holds 51,316 shares of SPMB, having purchased an additional 19,388 shares during the quarter. The total value of their holdings in the SPDR Portfolio Mortgage Backed Bond ETF amounts to approximately $1.11 million at the end of the recent quarter.
Bank of New York Mellon Corp is not alone in its interest in this ETF. Several other institutional investors have also adjusted their positions in the fund. Golden State Wealth Management LLC entered a new investment in the ETF valued at around $349,000 during the fourth quarter. Meanwhile, Strategic Blueprint LLC expanded its stake by 89.8% to own 55,923 shares worth about $1.21 million after acquiring 26,454 additional shares in the same period.
Furthermore, Crews Bank & Trust, another institutional investor, made a new investment in the SPDR Portfolio Mortgage Backed Bond ETF, with a value of approximately $106,000. Abound Financial LLC also purchased new shares in the ETF, significantly increasing its position to a total worth of $5.39 million. Lastly, Tsfg LLC raised its holdings in the ETF by 8.9%, owning 235,829 shares valued at around $5.08 million after buying an additional 19,184 shares during the fourth quarter.

The SPDR Portfolio Mortgage Backed Bond ETF was trading at $21.89 at the time of reporting. Over the past year, the ETF has experienced a low of $20.92 and a high of $22.76. The stock's fifty-day simple moving average stands at $21.77, while the 200-day simple moving average is at $21.91.
