What's Happening with Palantir Stock on Monday?
Palantir Technologies Inc (NASDAQ: PLTR) is drawing attention today as the company prepares to release its fourth-quarter earnings later today. Investors are eager to learn the latest financial data which could impact the stock performance in the near future.
Expected Earnings and Revenue: Palantir is anticipated to announce earnings of 11 cents per share, along with projected revenue of $775.91 million, based on estimates provided by market analysts.
This significant report comes on the back of a remarkable year for Palantir, with its shares soaring by more than 300% in 2024. This impressive growth has largely been attributed to the company’s strategic position within the booming artificial intelligence industry.
Since the release of third-quarter results, the company's stock price has nearly doubled. During that last quarter, Palantir reported a 30% year-over-year increase in revenue, driven by strong performance in the U.S. market. Moreover, the company saw a 39% growth in its customer base, successfully securing 104 deals worth over $1 million, as demand for advanced AI technologies continued to rise.
In his recent letter to shareholders, Palantir CEO Alex Karp emphasized the rapid growth trajectory of the company: "The growth of our business is accelerating, and our financial performance is exceeding expectations as we meet an unwavering demand for the most advanced artificial intelligence technologies from our U.S. government and commercial customers."
Market Reactions: Palantir's shares recently experienced a slight setback after a selloff last week. This downturn was fueled by concerns that a Chinese startup, DeepSeek, might pose a threat to America's dominance in the AI sector. DeepSeek reportedly managed to develop its open-source large language model (LLM) at a fraction of the cost of its competitors, leading its AI Assistant app to surpass OpenAI’s ChatGPT as the top-rated free application in Apple’s App Store.
In a CNBC interview, Karp commented on the situation surrounding DeepSeek, suggesting it highlights the urgent need for the U.S. to expedite its advanced AI development. He also expressed skepticism regarding the accuracy of the cost estimates related to DeepSeek's development.
Current Share Price: Despite recent fluctuations, Palantir shares were trading down 4.05% to $79.15 at the time of this report, according to market data.
As investors await the official earnings release, all eyes are on Palantir to see how these results will affect future stock performance.
